Mjolnir (Thor's Hammer) For this project I was inspired by the adventures of Thor in the Norse legends. Thor was the god of lightning, storms, war and fertility. The head of the hammer is quilted Sapele with inlaid Bird's Eye Maple. The inlaid images represent the lightning within this powerful weapon. The serpent wrapped around the handle (Jormungandr) was a massive beast that encircled the world of Midgard. The handle is made of cowhide around a wood core. (w=4", L-12")
