Oriental Jewelry Box

This jewelry box is an adaptation of a cabinet I came upon in my travels. As a jewelry box the design worked out perfectly. The sides are Sapele, the body is maple and reddish accents are Caribbean Rosewood.

Curly maple is a wood native to North America. It has a rare, prized grain with shimmering, wavy lines that create a three-dimensional effect. Sapele is an African tropical hardwood. It is highly valued for making fine objects of art and fine furniture. Caribbean Rosewood is often used for fine furniture and decorative woodwork. (w=8", d=6", h=4")
