Forest Blossom

The "Forest Blossom" was inspired by flowers I saw along the trail while hiking in the Swiss Alps. It is a keepsake box for all those personal treasures. The woods I used are curly maple for the top, camel thorn for the center, and sapele for the body. The interior is lined with quilted green velvet.

Curly maple is a wood native to North America. It has a rare, prized grain with shimmering, wavy lines that create a three-dimensional effect. Sapele is an African tropical hardwood. It is highly valued for making fine objects of art and fine furniture. (w=11", h=3½")
