Chess Set

Having been an avid chess player for many years I decided to finally build a chess set housed in a cabinet with drawers that have storage for the pieces. The board is made of quilted mahogany and tiger maple. The edges of the board are inlaid with speckled ash and the trim is indian rosewood. The drawer handles have the queen's crown inlaid with ebony on one drawer and ash on the other. I made the pieces of indian rosewood and maple. Each piece is weighted and felted. The highly figured sides of the cabinet are etimoe.

Etimoe is a rare hardwood from Africa typically used for high end furniture. Indian rosewood is found in India, Sri Lanka and Indonesia. It is often used for musical instruments and furniture. Quilted mahogany is from Honduras and highly prized for its unique iridescent grain. Tiger maple is sourced from Michigan.

All items are made to order and take about 6 weeks to complete. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to place an order. All sales are final (no refunds)
