Crescent Moon

I got the idea for this box when observing the crescent moon walking in the park early one morning.

The body is mahogany with a maple band around the exterior. The top has an inlaid ebony elipse on an ash background. Maple is often found in Michigan and other northern states. The mahogany was sourced from Florida and the ebony from Africa. The interior is lined with navy blue velvet. (w=10", h=3")
